An Opportunity to Give Back!

I'm sure many of you know from personal experience that the very act of giving is actually a gift to yourself. By this I mean that you receive far more than you ever expected when you volunteer and give back to your community. As a Social Service Worker here in Utah I feel that it is critical to give a voice to those who do not have one. If you volunteer, then UtahEtsy would love to hear about it . Let us know how members of UtahEtsy are giving back to their community!

AlternateBliss / GumballGrenade is working on giving back to the Utah community by donating items to local nonprofits. Currently she is putting together a UtahEtsy Basket for the Children's Justice Center 2008 Annual Fundraiser and silent auction. If you are interested in donating items and letting the local community know that UtahEtsy supports them, then convo/email AlternateBliss or GumballGrenade. Also, many thanks to ColorfulDayz for her donation!

Are you looking for a volunteer organization to join? If so you should send a convo/contact Alternatebliss. The Utah chapter of Altrusa International is having a bring a guest dinner and meeting this Monday (January 28th, 6 pm) and would love to have UtahEtsy members as her guests.
Also, did you know that our UtahEtsy member Bdezines is a supporter of "One World Everybody Eats". She let us know that, "They are a Community Kitchen in SLC that beleive in giving 'A hand up,not a hand out,' which means anyone can eat. The cafe will never turndown a hungry soul who can't pay and offers to trade their home grown organic food for some work in their gardens or in the kitchen washingdishes. They could use any of our homemade crafts for there "Country Craft'store and of course they could use any cash donations we might be ableto generate from sales from our stores. Their website is . Check it out and letme know if any of you would be interested in helping out? Thanks so much! BarbBDezines"

When Will I Get My First Sale?

If your asking yourself this very question then you may want to look at these wonderful charts posted by etsy user LooseWireStudio. The links below will lead you to the discussion threads with charts. Enjoy!

How many days did it take for etsy sellers to make their first sale? From the date they first listed to the date of the sale. Post the number of DAYS here, once. I will chart the data and add to this graph:

Other charts we've (loosewire and others) done together:
-Average Age of Etsians
-Hearts to Sales Ratio
-Number of Items in Shop
